1. United Arab Emirates University-
The oldest university in the UAE, UAEU was established after the independence from Britain by the founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in 1976. It is one of the oldest government-sponsored institutions in the UAE.
2. Zayed University-
As the name suggests, it is named in the honor of Sheikh Zayad bin Sultan al Nahyan in 1998. It is one of the three government-sponsored institutions for higher education. One of the best universities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, it has received accreditation from the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
3. University of Sharjah-
Considered as one of the best among the list of universities in Sharjah, the University of Sharjah was founded in 1997 by the president and chairman, the ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasmi to meet the city’s educational needs.
4. Ajman University-
Founded as Ajman University College of Science and Technology in 1988, it has two campuses- one in Ajman and the other in Fujairah. Ajman University was ranked as 44th top university in UAE region according to QS University rankings.
5. American University in Dubai-
Founded in 1995, the American University in Dubai is accredited by both Southern Association of Colleges & Schools and by the U.S. Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
6. American University in Sharjah-
It was founded in 1997 by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Qasimi. American University of Sharjah is accredited in the United States of America by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
7. University of Dubai-
The University of Dubai was established in 1997 by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI). It’s the first private university in the UAE to hold the ABET-CAC accreditation for its Computing and Information Systems (BS) program in 2006.
8. Paris Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi-
Also called the Université Paris-Sorbonne Abou Dhabi (UPSAD), a French and English speaking university in Abu Dhabi, was established in 2006 and is among the top universities in Abu Dhabi. With it’s parent university in Paris, it’s UAE campus is situated on Al-Reem Island. It remains true to the same teaching structure implemented in Paris.
